'FIGHTS,
VAMPIRE BITES AND BABES COLLIDE IN 'TWINS EFFECT'. |
EMG's
2002/2003 production slate kicks off, literally, with the horror comedy
actioner 'The Twins Effect'. Billed as 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer'
goes East, the film marks the action movie debut of Asia's hottest
entertainment act, The Twins. The Twins are two cute Hong Kong singing
stars, Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung. Charlene made an impact as
an actress with her performances in the earlier EMG releases 'Heroes
In Love' and 'Funeral March', while Gillian is no stranger to action,
having shot a promotional film on the set of the EMG smash hit 'Highbinders'.
'The Twins Effect' is helmed by award-winning director Dante Lam.
Lam promises the film will deliver a combination of horror, comedy
and slam-bang Hong Kong-style martial arts movie action. 'The Twins
Effect' commences principal photography July 2002, and will be available
at the end of this year.

'HONG
KONG'S NEXT SUPERSTAR GENERATION ARE 'THIEVES LIKE US'.
Three
of Hong Kong's hottest young idols join forces for a fast-paced
stunt-packed caper comedy, to be shot on location in sunny Europe.

starring roles in the dramas 'Visible Secret' and 'Funeral March',
Edison Chen made an impact with his role in the hit action release
'Gen-Y Cops' and Joey Yung is currently Hong Kong's hippest
pop diva. Director Wilson Ip, whose previous hits include 'Skyline
Cruisers', 'Juliet In Love' and '2002', has proved himself adept
at handling character, comedy and action, and combines all three
for 'Thieves Like Us'. The film commences shooting Fall 2002,

'CHINESE
GHOST STORIES : EMG IS 'DEMI-HAUNTED' WITH 'NEW BLOOD'.
The
uniquely Hong Kong styled tales of the supernatural have earned
a worldwide cult following. EMG continues the tradition with
two very different tales of the unexpected. 'Demi-Haunted' is
a ghostly romance from director Patrick Leung, director of the
festival fave 'Beyond Hypothermia'. Set against the world of
Chinese Opera, it features rising stars Eason Chan and Joey
Yung as a pair of star-crossed lovers. 'New Blood' is an innovative
horror film in which a life-saving transfusion unleashes a vengeful
spirit. In the tradition of cutting edge shockers, it introduces
a new director, Pou-soi Cheang, and a bright line-up of new
faces. The EMG library also includes the eerie Japanese ghost
story 'Kakashi'.
