About the Film :

After paying tribute to the Hong Kong gangster films of the 80s in his directing debut Enter the Phoenix, Stephen Fung continues to travel down nostalgia lane, this time bathing in the warmth of kungfu films of the Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan era. Through his exploration of a modern martial arts single-parent family, Stephen the Gen-Xer has refreshed a genre that has shaped the psyche of more than one generation with the bright young eyes of a believer.

Joining Stephen on screen are two-time Best Actor Award winner Anthony Wong who is lesser known for his karate black belt and Shaolin merged with monkey style kungfu history, New Police Story's Daniel Wu who was the founder of a Wushu club and a keen participant of collegiate Wushu competitions, and the fastest rising new martial arts princess Gillian Chung from Twins Effect.

With full support from his producer Jackie Chan, Stephen gains Hollywood action choreographer Yuen Wo Ping of Matrix fame as his martial arts advisor. Legendary martial arts actor-director Wu Ma, best known for his performance in A Chinese Ghost Story, also agrees to a special appearance.

Synopsis :

On the surface, Teddy Yu (Anthony Wong) is a Chinese chiropractor and a single-parent. His kids Nicky (Stephen Fung), a dolphin trainer at Ocean Park and Natalie (Gillian Chung), a highschool student, learn the art of kungfu from their father, but are unconvinced of their father's claim to a secret life as a heroic body guard for retired agents. When the father tries to provide too much and the kids are tired of all the bragging, the family is not going to be a harmonious one.

Until one day, Rocco (Michael Wong) arrives in his wheelchair, asking Teddy for information on ex-agent Dragon. Knowing that Dragon interrupted Rocco's mission twelve years ago which cost Rocco his legs, Teddy's lips are sealed. Rocco leaves in silence but four kungfu experts return and successfully capture Teddy after an almost even fight. Drugged and tortured, Teddy finally reveals that the data of the retired agents is hidden in his kids' lucky charms.

Rocco's men are immediately dispatched to Natalie's school but they are no match for the brother and sister team. Natalie discovers a memory card inside her lucky charm and suspects it is a clue to their father's disappearance. However, her boyfriend Jason (Daniel Wu) is unable to read the file because it is incomplete. They immediately return to Ocean Park with their friend May (Charlene Choi) to pick up Nicky's charm only to find more of Rocco's men waiting for them. Unable to accomplish the feat by force, Rocco reverts to Plan B and threatens to kill Teddy unless the kids can find Dragon for him.

When the computer file is completed, Nicky and Natalie realize that Dragon is actually their father's long-time friend Tide (Wu Ma). The spy stories they grew up with finally have recognizable faces. Their father is telling the truth afterall. Just when they are planning to pay Tide a visit, Jason locks them up in a room and goes to meet Tide on his own. Jason's motive becomes the new mystery Nicky and Natalie have to solve before they can save their father.
